Driving Directions

From Nelson:
Take Highway 3A West towards Castlegar. At the Taghum Shell Station check your odometer. At approximately 3 kilometres past the station heading west on Highway 3A you will see a turn-off for Beasley Road on the right-hand side. Turn off onto Beasley Road and watch for signs leading to the Guest House.

From Castlegar / Trail / Kelowna:
Take Highway 3A East towards Nelson. Continue East on Highway 3A until you see a sign for Beasley Road. At this point you need to slow down because you will be making a left-hand turn onto Beasley Road. At the first intersection turn right and follow Beasley Rd. for several kilometres until you see the signs for Bear Spring Guest House.

Spokane to Nelson - approximately 3 hours driving time:
We recommend you take Highway 2 out of Spokane, then a short cut to Highway 211 to Usk then to Highway 20, and Highway 31 to Metaline Falls, Washington and the Canadian border crossing at Nelway. From Nelway take Highway 6 to the junction with Highway 3A near Nelson. Follow directions above from Nelson. Bear Spring Guest House is approximately 1 hour from the Nelway Border Crossing.

You can also take Highway 395 north from Spokane, Washington to Colville, Washington. Then near Kettle Falls, Washington take Highway 25 to Northport, Washington, the most northern U.S. town before the Patterson Border Crossing. This route takes about 20-30 minutes longer than going through the Nelway Border Crossing. At the border take Highway 22 to Rossland and then on to Castlegar. Follow the directions above from Castlegar to the Guest House.
